About the Talk
Dallas-Fort Worth High-Speed Transportation
The North Central Texas Council of Governments initiated the DFW High-Speed Transportation Connections Study in spring 2020 to explore creating and then linking to other proposed accelerated-performance passenger systems in the state. Project manager Ian Bryant, AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners), detailed the ongoing study at the June 5 ACC meeting, emphasizing the touted environmental and tourism aspects of high-speed rail, among other benefits. Ian is a senior project manager and transportation planner at HNTB Corp. specializing in transit and rail projects. He has extensive technical expertise on a variety of high-speed transportation and environmental planning endeavors, including alternative analyses, long-range processes, corridor studies, and NEPA documentation.
