Volunteer

Showing up matters more than dues. A few hours, a few times a year, can shape the future of Arlington’s natural environment.

This is what a work day looks like

No experience needed, no minimum commitment. Our crews are neighbors of every age — students, retirees, families, and the occasional very good dog. Pick the location and kind of work below that fits you at any park with a Friends of the Park group.

Email us with the kind of work that fits your schedule. Your note goes straight to the board, and we’ll connect you with the right effort.

Wildscape work days

Help maintain native-plant habitat at the Molly Hollar Wildscape. Mulching, weeding, planting, trail care. Tools provided; bring water and gloves.

Cleanups & litter

Join park and creek cleanups — pulling trash and especially plastic out of the spaces wildlife and neighbors share.

Pollinator gardens

Plant and tend native and pollinator beds — monarch waystations, butterfly and bee habitat — at parks and partner sites.

Plant & mulch

Help plant trees and natives, spread mulch, and care for paths and young plantings on seasonal work days.
