A little history

Archibald F. Leonard built a dam and grain mill on this stretch of the river in 1856. The mill burned in 1860, was rebuilt, and in 1876 passed to R.A. “Bob” Randol, whose water-driven turbine powered the grain mill, a sawmill, and a cotton gin — the operation that gave the park and road their name.
